Audio Committee

Who We Are

We are an Ad Hoc Committee of Area 29, Maryland General Service. Our purpose is to set up and provide sound and recording equipment at Area 29 Committee and Assembly meetings. Audio recordings of the meetings assist with preserving the area business for current and archival usage.

What We Do

  • Attend all Area 29, Maryland General Service Committee and Assembly meetings and the Mini Conference

  • Set up loudspeakers, microphones, amplifier, and recording equipment.

  • Ensure all equipment is operating properly.

  • Maintain proper working condition of equipment and insure that the proper maintenance and repairs are performed.

  • Provide CD recordings of the Area meetings to the Area Chair and Secretary.

What We Do Not Do

Attend District, Intergroup, or other Group functions, events, or activities for the purpose of using this equipment.

If you have an interest in audio or would just like to participate on this Committee, please contact the Audio Chairperson.

The Audio Chairperson is appointed by the Area Chairperson for a term of two years, beginning in even-numbered years. In addition to What We Do, the Audio Chairperson prepares the annual Audio Budget request to be submitted to the Finance Committee in October of each year.

Tradition Eleven (long form)

Our relations with the general public should be characterized by personal anonymity. We think A.A. ought to avoid sensational advertising. Our names and pictures as A.A. members ought not to be broadcast, filmed, or publicly printed. Our public relations should be guided by the principle of attraction rather than promotion. There is never need to praise ourselves. We feel it better to let our friends recommend us.
